Oscar
Newman Charity
|
|
Oscar
Newman believes that social responsibility and support for dogs and
all animals is an important part of their mission. It has always been
our ongoing objective to make a significant difference in the lives
of less-fortunate animals. We hope to eradicate all puppy mills, we
hope for a time when there will be no homeless pets, and we hope for
a time when no unwanted pets will ever be born. We hope that you will
help support this mission by giving to one or several animal welfare
groups regularly.
Oscar
Newman regularly donates or has contributed to the following groups:

Best
Friends Animal Society www.bestfriends.org
- Best Friends works with individuals and with humane groups across
the country to strive for the day when homeless, unwanted animals are
no longer being destroyed in shelters, and when every healthy dog or
cat can be guaranteed a good life in a caring home. Best Friends provides
information, assistance, and training to people and grassroots groups
who are looking to create no-kill communities. The sanctuary, at the
heart of Southern Utah's Golden Circle of national parks, is home to
about 1,500 dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, and other animals. Oscar
Newman is an on-going sustaining member to the Best Friends

The
Humane Society of the United States - Stop Puppy Mills Campaign
www.stoppuppymills.org
- Humane Society of the United States has been investigating puppy mills
for decades, exposing the cruel realities of the commercial dog-breeding
industry. They lobby for the current laws as well as for additional money
to enforce those laws. They also educated millions of consumers on the
many reasons they should avoid pet-store puppies. You can help The HSUS
spread the word about puppy mills by ordering and distributing copies
of their two fliers, "How to Find a Good Dog Breeder" and "How
to Buy a Puppy." from their website.

The
National Cancer Society for Animals
www.cancer-animals.com

counseling to those whose animals are being treated for cancer and others
who have lost their pets to cancer. This service is provided through a

peer support groups, which can provide the resource and comfort needed
in addressing grief, financial issues and the process of treatment. They
educate the public regarding the existence of cancer in animals and the
need to support those who are affected. This is done through the national
media, educational outreach programs, and through personal contact with
the organization's ambassador troupe.

The
Winn Feline Foundation
www.winnfelinehealth.org
- The Winn Feline Foundation is a non-profit organization, founded by
the Cat Fanciers' Association (CFA) in 1968 to create a source of funding
for medical studies to improve the health and welfare of cats. Projects
funded by The Winn Feline Foundation have provided much of the information
that is used every day in all aspects of feline veterinary medicine. Oscar
Newman loves kitty cats, and incorporates
them in many of their designs. One of their inspiration kitties, Angel,
lost her battle to Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) at the young age of three.
FeLV is a virus that can be responsible for certain types of cancer in
cats. FeLV infection is responsible for more deaths among cats than any
other infectious disease.
One
hundred percent of every donation received by the Foundation is used
to directly benefit cats. No portion of any donation is used for administrative
costs or other expenses. To give to The Winn Feline Foundation, please
